Winter in Sydney

In the Southern Hemisphere.(that includes Sydney) the seasons are....

Winter
June, July, and August.

Spring
September, October and November.

Summer
December, January, and February

Autumn
March, April and May.

Although technically not correct Australia considers the..........

1st of June to be the first day of Winter.

1st of September to be the first day of Spring.

1st of December to be the first day of Summer.

1st of March to be the first day of Autumn.

Sydney has had a very dry Winter. The main dam is at 40% and we are on water restrictions.

Winter weather in Sydney

Expect generally cool conditions. The average temperature should range from around 8°C (46°F) at night to 16°C (61°F) in the daytime in mid-winter.

Expect from 80mm to 131mm of rain in a month, with the most rain in June tapering into August.

For goodness sake. How many of these questions are you going to ask?

Sydney, Australia is in the southern hemisphere. In August, it is spring everywhere in the southern hemisphere. The weather will be like what it's normally like anywhere in spring - cool, getting warmer, with rain and some someshine.

You've so far asked 5 questions like this, all of which can easily be answered by yourself with a bit of thinking and resourcefulness.

Come to think of it, what is this project you're researching. It's got nothing to do with what the weather's like anywhere does it? Is it to find out at what point people like me get annoyed with questions on YA?

Sydney in August is still winter, not sure of weather details as I live in Victoria and it can be quite different but I would assume its wet with showers and temperatures of anywhere between 12 to 16 degrees celcius.

The seasons in the southern hemisphere are exactly opposite from the northern hemisphere, so it would be winter in August.

Here are the historical weather charts for Sydney:

Hope that helps!

It is spring !

I was in sydney aug/sept last year. It's spring and the weather varies from being chilly and a bit damp to really what we'd call quite hot. A total mixture! Put it this way, it's better that spring over here!!

braindead_and_happy
Wet. Very very wet. Like stairwells becoming waterfalls kinda wet.
