Stay in the U.S. or move to Australia? ?

I am currently in the US under the H1B temporary work visa, and I have a pretty decent job (finance-related) with a good pay. However I'm contemplating to moving to Australia (no job yet) as I already have secured the Permanent Resident Visa, and I have family there. If I stay here in the US, it'll take another 3-4 years to secure a Greencard through my employer. If I move to Australia, there's no coming back here in the US. Any advice/insights are appreciated!

Allot of Americans are heading our way due to the financial crisis. You would be welcome here mate. Our way of life is not as fast paced as yours we are a little more laid back. If you want to come to an open friendly country full of possibilities, then head on over. If you want to line up employment try these web sites.

There are a couple of questions you should ask yourself before you make any decisions. Do you like your job in the US? Are you happy with your job? and Do you wish to continue working at this job for the next few years? It's important to really look at these answers to begin to make some tough decisions for yourself.

Next, aside from having family in Australia, do you have any other reasons for wanting to go there? Do you think that you might be happy in Australia? Where do you think you might be the happiest?

I guess what I'm really trying to get at is even though you have all these documents, that doesn't mean you have to actually go through with something if you aren't quite sure what to do. Look at what it was that brought you to the US; what was the big draw for you? Now, do you see yourself being drawn to Australia like you were drawn to the US? Basically, your decision needs to be based on you and you only. I certainly can tell you to stay in the US, but what do you really want? Take a look at your heart and then go from there. And, remember, whatever your decision turns out to be is the best decision for you. It's your life and you need to be content with where it is you live.

I hope this helps a bit and I wish you much success in whatever it is you decide to do. Be happy in your life each and every day! Good luck!

I'll stay in the United States.

Australia has gun control, you don't get to own one. Violent crime is up. More restrictions to come. You decide.
