Sydney Tower at night? Worth it or not?

I'm going to Sydney next weekend, and I was wondering if going up to the observation deck at Sydney Tower at night was a good experience? Can you still see as far, and is it a good view, or should I just go during the day?
Additional Details
Thanks everyone! The reason I asked is because I'm only going for a few days, so I'll be crunched for time.

Yes, well worth it, the view is awesome with all the city lights far and wide. However, I'd do both if you can afford it, or just go up there towards sunset and stay a while!

try to go very late afternoon and see it by daylight then stay til the sun sets
well worth the time
enjoy

If you have never done it before and not likely to have the chance to do it in the future – then yes, it is worth it.

Both day and night would be good, but I would put my preference in a sunny clear day.

Given the monsoon type rain during the day lately, maybe a night visit would be better.

Make your choice once you have more idea of the weather on that day.

Or try and go up late afternoon / early evening when it is still light and stay until after it gets dark - then you get the best of both worlds.

well my memories are kinda fuzzy
but yeh i enjoyed it
the food's quite good (the serve camel so it's kinda weird)
yeh you can see far, it's really cool
it's really great that it spins
defintely worth it because it spins
well if you in summer you can get the benefits of night and day because of the late sunset

Both times are good but I prefered the night view. I was in the revolving restaurant one night when a huge lightening storm blew across the city, the views were awesome. Haven't been there in a while but the food was great, portions were very small and it was expensive for what you got, but it has the best view of Sydney.

Yeah definately do it - the restaurant view is awesome...

i think that either the day or night are both good...... but one thing i DONT recommend to do is eat at the buffet! it is so expensive (my family and i have been there on several occasions for years now) it used to be great with heaps of variety now its just a little bit of meat and salad and one or two cakes for dessert....... its been getting smaller and smaller for years (it used to be the whole way around the tower now it is maybe 1/4 not even!)the last time i was so disappointed..... im never going back......:-( its a shame.....

Went there for dinner. Seated when there's still day light. It was clear for a nice 360 view. Stayed until the tummy was happy and enjoyed the beautiful night lights out there.
