I live a couple of blocks back from the harbour with a good view to the display area and didn't even bother to go look at them. I haven't bothered to watch the fireworks displays for well over 20 years. I'm just so over them.
Around here, there is some sort of fireworks either from the harbour or Darling Harbour at least once a week. Totally fed up with them scaring my cat and making my house shake and windows rattle.

I didn't see them but was told by someone who did that they weren't as good as usual. They had some new person [woman] orchestrating them this year and they were supposed to build to a crescendo representing a storm with lightning etc. I liked the other bod who used to do them [Rod someone?] but I hear he's now doing them for some other country who poached him. I used to see them every year when I lived in Sydney [right on the harbour] and I miss them now. They don't even put them on the tv down here in Tassie where I live now. So don't think YOU'RE hard done by.

are you kidding? it was amazing, i was on the harbour.
tuppenybitz
they spent 6 million dollars, absolutely disgusting! think of what could have been done for the australian people with that kind of money
not to mention the pollution from cities all over the world having fireworks like that
fireworks of that magnitude should be banned worldwide, yes i know they are a lovely sight but with the state the planet is in it is not needed
