Tasmania IS beautiful - it is a wonderful place to live.

The weather is a little cooler than mainland Australia, and quite cold & wet in winter.
Hobart is a very pretty place with great shops, markets and food.
The people are friendly and it is probably the most environtmentally conscious state in Australia.
Since you've posted this in the "Hobart" section I'm assuming that's where you're considering, but Launceston, Burnie, Devonport, Strachan ... all have their own special charms.

Beautiful state, isolated from the mainland but very pristine, has a sort of England setting. If you like the peace and tranquillity of nature a great place to settle. Not the hustle and bustle of mainland Australia.

Tasmania is the island state of Australia. It is also called Emerald Isle. The geological land form is very old and the terrain is hilly. The population too is extreamly low. If you can live without human being then why not?

But Why??
It floated away recently.
