Whitsunday islands. For a week id stay at hamilton island and relax, snorkel, sunbake, fish etc and one of the days head out to the great barrier reef. Probably get a package for around $1000-$2000 per person.

As for for things to do there are lots of things you can do, including:

- Sea World
- Movie World
- Dream World
- Wet'n Wild Water World
- Paradise Country

There is a good summary on travelfactsheet which also shows the opening times and costs. I would check out the opening times during Christmas because lots of things might be closed. If you are able to go to Cairns to the Great Barrier Reef...

For accommodation most of my friends use RACV accommodation search it pretty much lists out everything in Australia, and if you know an Aussie they might be able to get you a discount!

I'd take my husband whale-watching! I have already done that at Hervey Bay - but I would definately do it again. I live in QLD so I have already done a lot of the touristy things... but I would also love to do some more camping out west. Just to get away from it all and have a relaxing holiday with no tv or luxuries or worries! To do all of this with my hubby in one week - I would probably guess at it costing around $1,000.

hi there. i live on the gold coast and there are many attractions. Check out holidays for sale website on http://www.holidaysforsale.tv/ they offer great deals for resorts anywhere. Second of all there are so many things to do
1. head to carrara markets and find a great bargain
2. head to main beach
3. try seaworld, movieworld, white water world, dreamworld
4. go zorbing 20 mins from the gold coast
5. head to Cavill Avenue and surfers paradise beach (BEST OF ALL)
6. Head to pacific fair for a great day of shopping

Gold coast offers many great deals and even travelling to Noosa you can enjoy many new experiences.

Go there.
I live in Noosa area.
You can beach, fish, shop, camp.
Pretty much anything.
The only thing is that it does grt pretty busy and expensive during the xmas holidays...just because it so popular.

But also. The great barrier reef would be nice ( up north)
Hope i helped :|

As it will be the wet season up North and hot and sticky I would head for the glass house Mountains around Monteville way Do some nice walks and spend some time down on the beach around Caloundra If the weather is to hot down the beach head back to the mountains where it will be beautiful . If you don't mind heat then go to Airlie beach and over to some of the Islands. Price depends how you travel there and what sort of accomodation from Back packers to Luxury. if you a sharing accomodation

Xmas holidays? I'd cruise around in between Cairns and Townsville where you're never far from a lovely cold river to swim in. I'd avoid the Gold & Sunshine Coasts like the plague (though would recommend them other times of the year). Carnarvon Gorge maybe. See some islands around Brisbane or the Whitsundays. Just remember the touristy areas are Mega-busy and stressful and it's really, really hot.

I was at "Surfers Paradise' only approximately
9 months ago , the Cavill Mall and surrounding
areas, and shops were all great!

Theres always somewhere to go and something
to see with a little beforehand planning.

We did some from home first and left what
else we wanted to do when we were actualy
at Surfers........the motels are very helpful
with whats on things to do and even purchasing
tickets.....Sea World and all the other places

I recommend to go down and have a look at
" Versace Palace - Motel " or save[it's not so much]
to simply have lunch there! The Marina shopping centre
next door is fantastic for beautiful designer clothes cet. and great bargains......One of our favourites was the
" Designer label Pet shop " it just blew our minds how
much things were there.

Nothing surpasses the beach and attractions at
"Surfers Paradise " and we are already planning to
return !
