Honey, here's the thing: you are simply asking in the wrong category!

I realize it is difficult, but if you look at the entire name of your category you have chosen to post under, you will see it is:

Home > Travel > Australia & New Zealand > Melbourne > Open Question

You are not ASKING a *TRAVEL* question! So you are unlikely to get the response relevant TO what your question IS!

Try reviewing the other categories and determine the one best suited to what you really wish to know.

And yes, agree with above respondent, people find it easier to answer you if you use good grammar so they can fully UNDERSTAND what it IS that you wish to KNOW!

Full time study limits your ability to work quite a lot because you have to allocate most of your time to study, so don't expect a lot of savings. Most of what you earn goes into living costs so try to cut your expenses where possible - share housing reduces rent costs for example.
If you're lucky you might get a casual weekend/evening job in retail or a business (like restuarant work) but these often go to high school kids who are cheaper by the hour, pay is pretty bad in these jobs in general ($25/hr at most). Your qualifications may allow you to get a part-time job involving accounting though as these skills are in a bit more demand.
Tutoring is quite good money, for limited hours and can be arranged at any time ( I have charged up to $45/hr but the rate depends on the subject, your experience and what level of study you're tutoring).
Another option is night work in either a club/bar or security you will need at minimum a RSA or basic security licence for these jobs though (which can be obtained quite quickly and cheaply).

Hi I live in Australia, and I study at Uni.

I saw an article recently about an american student who thought that a "tuition" scholarship included accomadation and food exspenses. It didn't. He should have checked more carfully before he came! He is currently living in a tent, and being threatened with deportation, has no text books, and is having a dreadful time.

Jobs can be difficult to find, depending on your skills and the area you are in. From next year Australian's with small children and disabilities will be forced back into the job market, and/or have their social security payments stopped. There will be a further shortage of unskilled job adn jobs for inexperienced people.

You need to be clear about what your student visa into Australia allows in terms of employment. All international students are NOT allowed to legally work as an immediate condition of their visa. This, however, can be altered after you commence your studies, but it does not usually allow you to work for more than twenty hours per week. Visit the immigration websites below for further details, and the Studying in Australia website (also below) for more information.

The most common jobs taken by international students with work permissions include telemarketing and call centre operators, console operators at petrol stations, door-to-door sales or interviewing and cleaning. These pay between $12 and $20 per hour, but that is not a guaranteed rate.

Also, I'd work hard at improving both your written and spoken English before you arrive. Your question here is written very awkwardly and if you submit essays written in this way, you're quite likely to perform poorly at university, especially at Masters level. Better spoken English will also make it easier for you to interact with Australian students and get a decent job (if you're allowed to).

Me & Most of my friends found a part time job after a few months as a student, there are opportunities, but you have to try hard as well.

We mostly work at restaurants /cafes, nowadays they pay around $14 an hour, or cash paid at $10. (and you have to pay a bit tax on it, if you only work 20 hrs a week for 52 weeks a year, you pay about $1.30 tax per hour) But note if you are on a student visa you can only work for 20 hours per week. And you have to study full time and pass most of your study units.

Say you have a 20 hr per week job on $14 per hr, so you make $254 per week after tax, you'll have to pay for food ( I lived off $50 per week as student, that's minimum) and rent (say minimum $60 in a shared flat) and transport....you can save some money if you live extremely economically like we used to do...

But if you are thinking paying the loan..it's hard, say tuition in Tertiary education for overseas student is at least $10,000 per year, that's already $192 per week, there's no way you can make enough to pay off the loan within the time of your study.

It's doable only if you can pay off the loan later when you can work more.

my brother is in Austrailia and he says its really expensive. It is not that easy to find a job , he got a job after 1 year.
