To all Aussies, how do we overcome the pain of the last week?

I am still in shock, how is everyone coping with the pain of losing two amazing people we loved.

Am worried for Terri too, she has a big job ahead, wish there was something I could do to help, money is good but she must feel so alone and overcome with grief.

Peter Brock was killed in a car crash yesterday. He was an icon in car racing here. He also motivated our olympic team, promoted road safety and was just a people person, similar to Steve.

Yes, it's been a dreadful week. Feel for Terri too, especially since they did an interview with her mother and she said she is so worried about the future.
Wish there was something that could be done to help her as well.
Hopefully she knows how much people care.
The king of the mountain will be missed in many circles. It is strange this happened when he was just starting to really enjoy his life.
Two Aussie icons who are sorely missed, but never forgotten.

Yeah that really stunk about Steve. but who was the second person that died? i freaking cried when i heard about steve. that's really really awful

i am from america but i feel in shock too..i just always thought steve was invincible..immortal..like a superman of the animal kingdom..i just keep thinking it is a bad nightmare and we will wake up and he will still be here with us ...i feel so bad for his family ...those beautiful children..especially bindi who loved her daddy so much...it is such a loss for the whole world

Yes it is really a shame that two people who have contributed so much to both the environment and charities could suddenly be gone.
With Steve Irwin I think the world saw him as a larger that life character, a comic hero so to speak, and it is such a shock to hear of his death because comic heroes aren't supposed to die are they? They almost have an aura about them that they are unbeatable,
Peter Brock also seemed unbeatable, they didn't call him Peter Perfect or King of the Mountain for nothing.
I personally do not feel overwhelmed with grief but as a mother of two I do feel a certain empathy with Terri and her family as they struggle through this terrible time , which has been made almost unbearably harder by all the media and public pressure.
Hopefully through their deaths, people will become more aware of their causes and their dreams will live on.
I just hope that people will give their families peace and privacy to get on with their grief.

People die, it is the way things are. And horrific as this last week has been, we can't allow ourselves to dwell on the end. It gives us a chance to view these mens lives and hold up what they believed in.

Steve Irwin in particular did so much for the environment and the tourism industry in Australia. I have a lot of respect for the man and what he acheived. But his spirit will remain, of that I am sure.

Take risks. Sometimes the risks bite back.

They both died doing what they loved.

Death is a normal part of life. If you are this filled with grief over someone you have no personal bonds with other than seeing them on TV or in print, how would you ever deal with a tragedy (God forbid) ---close to home?

It is sad, I was sad and feel terrible for the family, but are you sure everything is ok with you that you are still so distraught???
