To my fellow Aussies. do we need more rain or do we need more rain?

I think we need more rain. This drought has to be broken. Our dams need to be at least 70% all around. I would love to sit on some nice soft green grass instead of a hard ground full of yellow grass. would you? I miss all the lovely green grass we once had. do you think rain will come this winter? because we sure need it. and lots of it on a regular basis. what do you think?

Vicki what state are you from? In Melbourne we have had bugger all. It might spit drops of rain for a few minutes then stops again.

That's what they keep telling us. One thing for sure is we need to stop wasting water.

We need more rain. Recently in Sydney we've had a fair amount of rain. It was enough to top our our dam levels but i really feel for the farmers, they are doing it so tough. More rain would be a real blessing for them.
As well as needing more rain we also need politicians to make smart decisions. Our idiot premier is spending hundreds of millions on a desalination plant that is costly to build and run when at the same time billions of litres that DO fall as rain go straight down the drain in most cases.

We need more rain!!! I live in Brisbane on 7 hectares (14k from GPO - hard to believe, Eh?) and we don't have town water. We rely on creek water for bathrooms/laundry and rainwater collected from the roof into tanks for drinking. Our creek used to flow for at least 45 weeks each year. Now, we're lucky if it flows for 6. We have had to have the vast majority of our water trucked in for the last 5 years - this is very expensive and a real PITA to arrange.

Yes - we need more rain!

need the rain here too but it don't rain in winter in QLD so we have to wait till summer

Dan
Well, I'm from Sydney and we have been receiving a bit of rain lately, which is great.

We need more though.

In Sydney, it's been raining a fair bit, but the country regions still need more rain, so yeah, we I have to agree, we do need more rain. I miss Aus being the way it used to be before the drought.

I think WE DO NEED MORE RAIN. Believe it or not, TREES are the cause (or help create) rain! They make our climate rain-friendly. Just 3 or so years ago, there used to be heaps of trees in our area. We used to get tonnes of rain- at least once every week, usually a big storm on Sundays. Now the council has decided it is time to chop down a few million trees to help new residents. WHAT IS THE POINT IF WE DON'T HAVE WATER TO GIVE THE NEW RESIDENTS?! Well. No rain for almost 4 months. Perhaps a 10 second sprinkle every blue moon.
