University of Macquarie Sydney or University Monash Melbourne? |
I'm a young 2nd year student from Canada... and plan on doing an exchange and living on campus at either school but was wondering which one has a better social scene (excitement,nightlife, meeting people etc.), and has a better reputation. Even in terms of which city would be better for an exchange student to live in (for 5+ months) would be helpful!! THX! |

I go to Monash! There's always something on, the clubs and societies have different events on all the time, it's just a matter of being a bit of a joiner at the start and getting into it!
Plus Thurs night in melbourne is uni night! when all the students go out in the city
so you've got your wed/thurs night uni functions, then friday and saturday nights for going out, sunday for recovery, parma and pots on mondays! tuesday to get ready for wed and you can do it all again!

Monash hands down!! Melbourne has the best night life. Melbourne is known for it's culture!! The best wine, the best food, the best shopping!! Monash is also a fantastic Uni which of course is the most important thing : ) |

um definitely go to monash coz maquarie is like a concrete jungle. it smells and the library is like small and has like nothing. we had to go there for a debating comp and we were appalled the smallness and disgustingness of it. my friend goes there and rumour has it that he slept with his professor. for three subjects! go to monash. they don't sleep with you. and melbourne is a great place for shopping and my friend will attend there this summer. the guys in melbourne are hotter than they are in sydney. believe you me i know. i live in sydney and i is a hole. |

Monash University, definitely. Monash is recognized as one of the Top 100 Universities in the world, while McQ does not even make the list. Besides, Melbourne is vastly better for meeting interesting people.
