I'm considering doing the same! Not on a permanent basis, maybe just for six to nine months to "test the water" and see where I go from there. I found http://www.seasonalwork.com.au/jobs.bsp to be a very good site, worth a look. Hope you find what you're looking for.

Don't know, but they will take you on if you can work in a mine, fitters wanted in western Australia, big money. 8 days on 7 off. No drinking at all whilst at the mines. Iron ore mines cannot find workers.

look online as some company's will offer you work and include your visa, e.g. farm hand which can be organised online and all set up for when you arrive, otherwise check out backpacker sites. again fruit picking will be your quickest and easiest way to get work.

Go online and check the help-wanted ads in the Syndey newspaper. Reply to any interesting ads that allow you to apply online.

Australia is very picky about letting non-citizens work in the country. Even non-Australian musicians giving concerts in Australia have to get special work visas. My comany sent me to Australia to do a couple weeks' work a few years ago and I had to apply for a work visa, which took longer than a standard tourist visa.

fastest way is to have a degree in health industry such as nursing/physio/socialworker and you will get work permit straight away. if not, fruit picking in qld is also a safe card or work as a nanny.

www.careerone.com.au is the biggest website for jobs in Australia, try looking there, to see if anything could be a possibility for you.

get your work visa and register with seek australia online - youll find most trades positions are in WA and Sydney however trades are in shortage all over OZ youll just need to hunt through the positions.

joanna w
you can get work picking fruit and vegetables anywhere-usually about $15/16 an hour

katie girl
They love getting backpackers to do fruit picking over here.
There is a government website called job network or job search - something like that, but if you do a search it will come up.
