Ways to get to Australia?

Hi. I was just wondering if anyone knew what was the best water way to get to Australia! From the UK.
Me and my Husband are hoping to go...early next year. But me being me has a fear of flying. So we were hoping to get a boat over stay for about 3 weeks then cruise back.

But while looking into this. Ive noticed thats its just a cruise that most companys offer and not a stop over. Any advice would be great.

There are a number of companies offering passenger travel on cargo ships. It's called 'freighter cruising'.

It's almost impossible to get here without flying, I think P & O travel once a year from Singapore? But then you couldn't get back. Or you may be able to go on a cargo boat.

I have a fear of flying but went to Australia twice last year, we flew with Singapore airlines both times from Manchester, they are fantastic, the planes are really airy and you have a good seat span so no squashing, your treat like a king and queen even in economy, they are the safest airline going, get on that plane and go girl, you only get one chance at this life so make the most of it.

how are you at rowing? other than that, i think flying is the only real way you can get here if you plan to stay.

Theres a good few routes. I went via Gibraltar, Morocco, Mediterranean to Port Said (visited Cairo) then down the Red Sea via the Suez Canal to Djibouti followed by three whole weeks at sea to Freemantle. Followed then by another week through the Australian Bight to Adelaide. That is a fair drag involving some hefty pewking to be witnessed. I have also returned via Tahiti Panama and Portugal on a Russian ship. You know you can overcome and lose that fear of flying easily. The best airline is Emirates and they will look after you in very possible way. You will only stop at Dubai, Singapore for a fuel stopover and transit passengers then which ever aussie city your destined for. Nothing to it. Good Luck.
