-UK
-Britain
-Pommy Land (we normally refer to the English as Poms, we don't really use Pommy Land a lot)

I tend to refer to each country, i.e England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, I don't group them together.

And no we don't think your upside down, we're not idiots.

We mostly call Britain - Britain, the UK or as slang Pommy Land.

Personally, I refer to Britain as Britain.

The last person to call Britain "The Mother Country" was probably Sir Robert Menzies, PM from 1939 to 1941 and from 1949 to 1966. It grated on most Australians nerves when he said it too.

Elliot
We mostly just call it Britian.

Everyone I know calls it the UK. Australians do NOT think of it as the mother country or any other post colonial cr@p like that.

Pommy-land :)

Actually a majority of people just refer to it as UK. We're that boring and unoriginal.

My mother who was a Pom but now is an Australian Citizen often calls it Home, as in "I got a letter from Home". You'd think she would have quit this habit after nearly 50 years in Australia.

Do you really want to know? Probably the smart ones call us things like Brizzies and the not-so-smart ones call us nothing, because they think we fell off Earth (because we're upside-down according to them) and are on an asteroid probably, so they might call us Deadies LOL
