The Aquarium in Melbourne is rather good to see. Maybe some of the locals on the boards can help you more. |

Lots of good stuff has already been mentioned but here's a couple more:-
Puffing Billy (a steam train ride through the Dandenong's)
The (Ian Potter) Children's Garden (part of the Botanic Garden's)
The Penguin Parade (at Phillip Island)
Healesville Sanctuary (all Australian native wildlife)
St. Kilda to Williamstown Ferry.
Fitzroy Garden's ( has a miniature Tudor village and a carved fairy tree area)
Albert Park Lake ( children's playground/ducks and swans/boat hire)
Horse and carriage ride around the city.
City Circle tram (free)
Hope you enjoy Melbourne. |

melbourne zoo is a nice place to go, during some periods of the year they have music at the zoo so you can see the animals in the afternoon and then have a picnic lunch in the evening listening to music....
the melbourne museum, scienceworks (science museum for kids) and a few other attractions are free for children under 12 because at one point they were getting no visitors so now they are very cheap to go to, the museum has a special kids section that looks like a rubiks cube and there is often shows on there for kids...
go to the beach is an easy one, maybe not st kilda at night with kids that age because of the red light aspect, while ur there go to luna park for some fun....
city circle tram is free and can be a fun trip around the city, also the city of melbourne tourist bus is free and goes to all sorts of attractions around the city...
there is also often free stuff to do (arts and crafts and what not) around fed square and birrarung marr as well as other places around the city centre particularly during local school holidays.....
hope u hav a good time....

If you have not booked your acommodation as yet, try

It is REALLY good for finding QUALITY accommodation at absolute bargain prices. It is pretty expensive to stay in Melbourne esp. in a 2 or even 3 bedroom place. |
