We want to move to Australia.?

We are both over 50 years of age, but very fit. My husband is a tea-taster and I have worked as an EAL instructor for 5 years. We have the money, but does our age go against us?

yes it may be a problem, the cutoff age for a skilled worker visa is 45

the employer sponsored visa is for highly skilled people
your best bet is to get in touch with an Australian embassy or consulate in your country

Hell come on down!! I dont know what an EAL instructor is but we need more Tea-tasters !!

age...as in some restriction? Never heard of that.

So long as you can afford to live there, I'm pretty sure you can go at any age.

Hi there!

I think there are some rules about been over 50 years old.

This link has all the info you need about moving - including a points calcluator to see if you can get in.

Good luck with it - I want to move there soon!!

Clarabella
I'd say go for it and good luck, if you have friends or family over there this can help as they can sponser you.

Jackass
Oh please take me with you! ;-)

Come on over! We don't discriminate against age.

ANA
Don't think you will have much success on the age and jobs front to get a permanent visa but could consider retirement here if you have enough money to put down to the government for a few years. Under this way in you are allowed to work only 20 hours a week
Check it out at www.immi.gov.au

having financial sercurity n a skill trade will be the most important assets...if u had a sponsor that would also be very advantagous...i dont think ur age should hinder u all to much if u dont have any medical ailments.

Not if you have the money, or needed skills. I dont think that a tea taster falls under the needed skills category, but some of the Australian Tea company's might just snap him up or sponser him.
Age is not a real criteria, only the ability to fund yourself and not be a burden on the State.

I don't know that much about our immigration policy but I can assure you Australia is a great place to live.
The air is clean , the food is fresh, the people are generally laid back and friendly. There are mountains , beaches, deserts and everything inbetween.

The US will take you in. We just love immigrants :)
