Sydney - because it's the biggest population and seems to be more well known than Canberra.

2nd place used to be Melbourne, but then Brisbane become more well known overseas because of the movie industry there, but now it seems that Perth is becoming more well known due to the economic boom and all the immigrants that write about it. BHP is moving it's corporate headquarters to Perth in 2 years just like Rio Tinto, and a lot of other Mining companies have done likewise.

Sydney and Melbourne are the two most heavily populated. Sydney is slightly bigger. Sydney is famous for the opera house, the harbour bridge and the sydney tower. It also has FANTASTIC views. Skyscrapers, boats, a bridge, green plants and wildlife, all in one! That's if you're standing in Taronga Zoo.

I visit Sydney alot because my mum's parents live there. But I've only ever been to Melbourne twice in my life, and once was when i wasn't even 1 year old yet. But it's famous for the Victoria Markets, The Melbourne Zoo, I'm not too sure you'll have to type Melbourne Australia into google.

Then there's Canberra, That's the capital. That aside, its the 3rd smallest capital city in Australia behind Darwin and Hobart. It's famous for being the capital i guess.

Sydney and Melbourne, definitely.

Sydney is a massive tourist attraction, with sights like the Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Bondi Beach. Sydney is also a major world financial centre with the Australian Stock Exchange, NewsCorp, Telstra and many other organisations calling it home.
Melbourne is also an extremely large financial centre, with company headquarters such as BHP Billiton. And most likely Australia's sporting capital, with massive turnouts to every sport.

Both cities also offer great upmarket shopping, with boutiques by huge companies like Chanel

Sydney and Melbourne are Australia's two largest cities.

They're famous because they are major tourist destinations in the nation and these two cities are the heart of almost everything - from TV to things like business headquarters.

Sydney, most population and the harbour is famous. Melbourne because it's a nice clean cultural city.

Sydney and Melbourne are the 2 largest and some of the oldest. Brisbane is a fairly significant city in terms of location, population and proximity to some great natural areas. But Melbourne and Sydney have a much more historic feel.
