only thing you would find a "negative" in Oz would be yourself if you bring an "outside" attitude. Aussies are laid back, happy, peace ful, hard working people, that love their beach, bbq and beer....and we despise any one that insults our way or tries to change it, which usually results in a nose pulling at the pub.

Seeing the same question almost every day on Yahoo Answers as if it has never been asked before "What is the capital of Australia?"

Australian's refuse to stand up for themselves...allowing themselves to fear the right of free speech...to scared to stand up for what is believed in...handing over one freedom after another.

We are generally an easy going people but we are losing it with the fair go being thrown out the window and smashed to smithereens.

It certainly has changed for the worse under John Howard.

note: signing Kyoto is wrong as it would only punish Australia. Make Asian nations reduce their pollution but no, you can't touch them. You know that Australia has done more than those who are signed up to Kyoto yet we would be punished for doing so. Kyoto is only set up to help the European and Asian nations.

For me, a resident of Australia, it is:
the distance or travel time from the UK, Europe and the USA;
the cost of petrol/gas; and
the current changes to the Industrial Relations Laws (really hurts the workers).

Howard - Costello - Vanstom. work place relation laws petrol prices interest rates the selling of everything Australian owned to cover government wages and superannuation while allowing roads to deteriorate into bush tracks Governments inaction on global warming.Pensioners treated as second rate citizens while immigrants get unlimited help and billions of dollars goes overseas , That's enough I'm getting a headache just thinking about it.
