It really depends on where your staying and what your'e shopping for. For high end fashion definatley Chadstone, or try the Chapel street shops (although not technically shopping centre).
For variety, Highpoint if you are heading west and Southland is down the Nepean. For bargains you have the DFO (direct factory outlets) in Moorabin, Essendon, and the new one at Southern Cross Station in the city.
For ecclectic or out of the ordinary items have a look at Brunswick Street and Smith street in Fitzroy, or for a day of wandering you can't beat the city itself.
I know some of these go outside your question, but seeing you didn't mention why you wanted the info I thought I would cover as much as possible!!
Happy shopping!! |

Anywhere in Melbourne is good for shopping. The DFOS are good, and now they have one in the city at Southern Cross Station. If you want the up market places there is always the CBD area, which is Collins Street and Bourke Street. If you want to see as many shops in the shortest time, then there is the the bus tours. You won't be disappointed if you come to Melbourne. |

take if from a self proclaimed shopaholic......Chadstone for fashion....for bargains head to DFO at cheltenham (its bigger and better than the essendon and spencer str outlets)
if your after something special then the gpo on bourke str is very boutiquey.....or the paris end of collins street offers most of the top end designers... |

I like "The Plaza" - which is local speak for Werribee Plaza.
Highpoint and Chadstone are good, they have everything a person could need, but they are too crowded.
But, after rambling on, because I work in the city I do alot of my shopping at the Bourke St mall. |

3) Knox city (huge mall)
4) Chapel Street South Yarra- for fashion
5) Church Street Brighton - for fashion (cheaper) etc.

For my part - I can not tell you. I am trapped here over the border (New South Wales)
Cheers, mate. |
