For a young person you would be best in suburbs such as parkside, norwood, kensington, north adelaide, goodwood, clarence gardens, or any suburbs in the foothills, these suburbs are very close to the city, but can tend to be a bit pricey. Go to realestate.com.au and see what you can get for your money. Definately avoid smithfield and hackham, the further south and north you go, the worse the areas, but up in the hills is beatiful. Mount barker is also quite affordable, is about 40 mins away from city bus is a bustling town with big w, supermarkets, maccas etc. etc. |

Some good places with a lot of rental units/flats are around Brooklyn Park, Para Hills, Glenelg, Paradise. These places are all accessible to buses, trains, trams etc and close to the City. No offense to anyone, but wouldn't live in places Angle Park, Ferryden Park, Smithfield or Hackham due to crime rates.
Adelaide (City itself) is quite small, it takes about the same travelling time to be at the beach or in the Hills.
Good luck with the move! |

Hi Mitch
the beat place I found is in the intercity area as I lived there for 10 years .The rentals are not bad if you can find a share place you will be better off.You are not far from the trains and buses they usually run every 15 to 20 Min's.GOOD LUCK. |

Hi, Adelaide is a beautiful city, very quiet compared to Sydney or Melbourne, Glenelg would be my choice, It's kinda yuppyish with all soughts of creative people, great beach, great pubs, low crime rate but plenty of whoopy weed about, A pinch of arty farty feel about it. Otherwise go inner city or the foot hills district. Pays to avoid the northern areas, very incestuous, black stubbie shorts and blue singlet country. Coast, City or the hills is my advice. |

Hey Mitch,
Welcome to Adelaide when u get here.
Suburbs for $210 a week and are close to Adelaide city with good access to trains and buses are
Glenelg ( nice beachside suburb very trendy) bit expensive, also has tram access, Brighton next suburb over not as dear and just as good. Paradise nice surburb middle class suburb has a good network of public transport and is only 10-12 mins from town. Norwood and Royston Park area are nice, Norwood is a very yuppy cafe district just on the outskirts of town hard to find rental properties there though. Royston Park might be more accessible.
Hope that helps you. |
