I used to live in Launceston (northern tassie) and to be honest it really does depend on what your into but I found working in hospitality what was on the top of everyones list was a place called Cradle Mountain/Lake St Clare N/P, this is located around the centre of the state, one end just south of Devonport and the other end is just north of Drewent Bridge in the dead centre of the state....another great thing back home is a place on the east coast called wineglass bay within the frachenay national park. this is one of the most beautiful spots in the world, its maga romantic and the perfect place to watch the stars on a barmy summers night....other nice places include
1) Mt Wellington (high above Hobart)
2) Huon Valley (apples, wine)
3) Tamar Valley ( fruit, vegies, wine)
4) Dismal Swamp (forrestry sponsored near the far north west coast)
5) Great Lake (one of the BEST fishing spots not just in Australia but arguably the world as a whole)
Please feel free to take a look at the websites below for some other info on Tasmania and great places to visit.

Sorry Tassy for me nil, too far below the Tropic of Capricorn. I love 18 -24 min/max for winter and those beautiful 28- 36 temps for summer, still not hot enough to swimming, over 40 before I enter the waters. Love postcards from Tas, enjoy your stay |

I agree with "Happy", I was very disappointed with Tasmania and was happy to fly out of Hobart and back to Queensland.
