The food is pure, the scenery is gorgeous, the alcohol is plentiful, and the women are easy. What more could you want? |

This answer cracked me up:
"Lots of rain, very green, lots of fantastic Moari (although i think there are officially more now in Australia than in New Zealand), a sibling to Australia (with plenty of sibling rivalry), get's their "i" and "e" mixed up, Lord of The Rings, good diary products,"
So New Zealanders get their 'i' and 'e' mixed up, but you can't figure out the difference between 'Moari' and Maori' and 'diary' and 'dairy'.
Talk about mixing up letters... |

Lots of rain, very green, lots of fantastic Moari (although i think there are officially more now in Australia than in New Zealand), a sibling to Australia (with plenty of sibling rivalry), get's their "i" and "e" mixed up, Lord of The Rings, good diary products, grey cloudy days, very pretty but needs more sun, the beautiful Bay of Islands (amongst other places), the All Blacks, Carlos Spencer and Jonah Lomu (don't know how to spell his name), did i mention rain. But very beautiful and rugged and a bit like Australia in that the flora fauna and landscape seems to be of another time and place-it's very unique and otherwordly in beauty. |

Europe all rolled in one --- friendly people --- and the Maori culture is an experience of it's own .
you would be hard pushed to find a finer country ( and take some time to listen to their national anthem ) sung in both the pakeha and the Maori --- there is no finer anthem in the world !! kia ora . |

Amazing place. It is so nice to be in this refreshing country. I am currently in Christchurch, which I say is a must for anyone traveling around the country.
Kiwis are very friendly and welcoming. I have not had any bad experiences while I have been here, which has been over 4 months now.
The scenery is so beautiful, you have the beach and the ski slops so close by, why would anyone not want to come here.
The difference between the two islands is def interesting. Both of them must be explored in order to get a real taste of NZ, you can not just visit one and say you "saw the country." |

One of my good hiking buddies is a native Kiwi and she's very down-to-earth and real. Another friend went to school there and raves about the place. And then 3 of my friends (including the Kiwi native) went to hike the Milford Track last year and raved about the scenery -- now I want to go! Until then, I had to content myself with writing about their trip tips...

It's a beautiful country but not for everyone. Someone who likes a fast pace of life may find it a little slow and there's a very laid back approach.
We moved here 15 years ago from the UK and haven't regretted it at all.
The only downside is the earthquakes! I HATE them!! |
