Antarctica
Australia
The reason New Zealand is not a continent is because, a continent can be defined as-
Continents are understood to be large, continuous, discrete masses of land, ideally separated by expanses of water.
Although New Zealand and Australia are separated by expanses of water, we are not on the same techtonic plate.
I believe some people are confused when they refer to New Zealand as being apart of the 'Oceania' continent, as there is no such thing.
New Zealand is in the Oceania region-
Oceania is a geopolitical region, rather than a continent, consisting of many countries in the Pacific Ocean, including those in the continent of Australia and the Pacific Islands.

Its part of Australasia/Oceania they are a bit different but i think its Australasia which is a bit smaller, i think Oceania is a Zone like a section of he earth. But its not very clear, quite confusing really!! :) |
