The first Tuesday in November. I don't know why this date is so auspicious. But Melburnians have the Melbourne Cup and the Americans have an election. I think we got the better end of the deal. LOL.

In Australia (on Tuesday 4 November 2008), most Australians will down tools and watch a horse race to see which 3-year old+ thoroughbred wins over 3,200-metres (2-miles).

In America (on Tuesday 4 November 2008), most Americans will stop work to vote and find out which hack's won the presidential race and will be ruining their lives for the next 3-years.

Australia definitely got the better end of the deal. ROFL.
