this website might be able to help you:
http://www.cultureandrecreation.gov.au/articles/fashion/
but mainly what americans and europeans wear....
also it depends on where you live and what you do for a job, in small country towns it might be a lot of jeans and t-shirts, and they may wear moleskin pants and a lot of "country" brands such as thomas cook (http://www.thomascookclothing.com.au), rivers and levis.
In the city and suburbs, it's anything goes, you have different styles, such as "hippy" "goth" "emo" "sporty" "glamour" "casual" "surfy" to downright "daggy" and heaps more.
Goodluck with your project - also the aboriginals can still wear their tradition dress.

Well Roo Roo I can tell you if you put 100 people in a room, and half are Aussies and half are American you would be able to tell them apart.

We tend to wear casual clothing on regular basis. Picture what a regular American and Canadian wears, we follow suite. Howver, in Oz it never really gets cold enough to warrant thick jackets etc. Mostly people wear jeans, t-shirts, shorts, flip-flops(called thongs in Australia).

idontlike_idiots
we wear clothes like everybody else but the climate here is quiet warm so thinner & lighter clothes most of the year. winter can get a bit cold but not too cold in most of the country i live in QLD so dont own many winter clothes i wear shorts & t-shirts & thongs(flip-flops)near all year around

http://www.coastwatch.com.au
look in here under --surf & beach--
--surf cams reports--
to see some live web cams of diffrent parts of Australia to see what we are wearing now

SolMan
depends on what you're looking for. shorts, t-shirts, hats, school uniforms. Go to an australian website and look at the photos.

Well, I don't know about any other Aussies, but I wear the same clothes everyone else does. For work I wear a suit and heels and on the weekends, I wear jeans or shorts with a singlet top.

I used to wear kangaroo and koala fur, but found they itched.

You will find country guys wear wrangler jeans, an akubra hat and cowboy boots.

Erin
if you mean Australians, then i can help you
Australians wear similar clothes to Americans, personally i mostly wear jeans, t shirts and thongs

skye
I live in outback australia and don't get out of my singlet, shorts and thongs unless i go working in which case it is jeans, singlet and rm williams (boots) and my hat

sobe-ryguy
shorts and t-shirt...

ahsset
bikinis and thongs mainly. Except for work, we usually put on a sarong or something over the bikini...

They dress just as we do- although the degree of fashion can vary a bit from that of Americans at times. Think about Japan for example, they go for a bit more of the extreme end of the fashion world- sometimes thought to be ridicules by us Americans. For the most part, they dress in every day clothing just as we do.
