this website might be able to help you:
http://www.cultureandrecreation.gov.au/articles/fashion/
but mainly what americans and europeans wear....
also it depends on where you live and what you do for a job, in small country towns it might be a lot of jeans and t-shirts, and they may wear moleskin pants and a lot of "country" brands such as thomas cook (http://www.thomascookclothing.com.au), rivers and levis.
In the city and suburbs, it's anything goes, you have different styles, such as "hippy" "goth" "emo" "sporty" "glamour" "casual" "surfy" to downright "daggy" and heaps more.
Goodluck with your project - also the aboriginals can still wear their tradition dress. |

We tend to wear casual clothing on regular basis. Picture what a regular American and Canadian wears, we follow suite. Howver, in Oz it never really gets cold enough to warrant thick jackets etc. Mostly people wear jeans, t-shirts, shorts, flip-flops(called thongs in Australia). |

Well, I don't know about any other Aussies, but I wear the same clothes everyone else does. For work I wear a suit and heels and on the weekends, I wear jeans or shorts with a singlet top.
I used to wear kangaroo and koala fur, but found they itched.
You will find country guys wear wrangler jeans, an akubra hat and cowboy boots. |

They dress just as we do- although the degree of fashion can vary a bit from that of Americans at times. Think about Japan for example, they go for a bit more of the extreme end of the fashion world- sometimes thought to be ridicules by us Americans. For the most part, they dress in every day clothing just as we do. |
