What do people eat for breakfast in Australia?

I have two 14 year old girls coming tomorrow from Sydney, Australia that are part of a youth choir singing at our church. We're housing two of them and are required to provide breakfast. What is a typical breakfast over there?

Look at this from a different perspective. They are coming to a foreign country and would probably like to experience your ways, cultures and foods. So why not give them the same breakfast as you would have?
As an indication though, breakfast in Australia will depend very much on the time of year as it gets hot in summer and colder in winter, so foods vary accordingly.
Popular breakfast foods include the general cereals - weetbix (weetabix in your country), corn flakes, rice bubbles (rice crispies), coco pops etc., all with milk and maybe some fruit. Then there's always fruit yogurt.
Also toast and marmalade or vegemite (marmite is similar but not so potent)
Then there is the cooked stuff including sausages, bacon, eggs etc.
Tea, coffee, juice etc comes with breakfast.
Best bet is to try asking them.

You'll find that they will eat pretty much the same for breakfast as you do. Most Australians simply have toast with a spread of some kind and/or cereal with milk with milk, juice, tea or coffee to drink. Don't do anything special. One of the best things about travelling overseas IMO, is seeing and experiencing every day things as they're done in the country you're visiting.

The typical breakfast of Australians strongly resembles breakfast in many Western countries. Owing to the warm weather in some parts of Australia, generally breakfast is light but in the colder regions porridge or meals similar to the full English breakfast may be consumed. The light breakfast commonly consists of, cereals, toast (with a spread) and fruit. A heavier cooked breakfast will frequently include, fried bacon, egg, mushroom, baked beans, sausages, tomatoes, toast with spread. Drinks taken at breakfast include, tea, coffee, flavoured milk or juice.

A popular breakfast food in Australia is Vegemite, a black, salty spread similar to Marmite, applied to toast or bread.

Any generic breakfast (cereal, porridge, oats, eggs&bacon) would be fine.

Same as the US, except half the quantity and no maple syrup on eggs and bacon.

Every morning I eat cereal for breakfast. My husband always eats vegimite on toast. Really, anything that you would serve for a continental breakfast would be suitable. Fruits, cereals, toast, etc. On special occasions (or weekends!) we like the bacon and eggs on toast - pretty much anything you eat would be fine though, I am sure!
