The weather. I mean really... we have such good weather. (Especially in QLD) I don't like the gold coast - as far as theme parks go they aren't the best (go to one of the disneylands/worlds throughout the world and you will see what I mean). Mind you - they are still fun and I grew up going to them every year. I also like how lucky we are... I mean we don't need to worry about a lot of problems that are major issues in other countries. Generally speaking you can't do much better than Australia - even with all it's faults I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. (Ok, maybe Canada if the weather was a bit nicer!)

Hey from Down under
I love living in Australia, I have travelled over sea's the States, Europe, Asia, Africa, but I always want to come home to Oz because is the best thing ever. We have a wonderful live-able country. We have a secure economy, plenty of jobs if you really want to work, a culture that does not condone guns. We have the Great Barrier Reef, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Ulluru (Ayres rock), we have Fishing beyond your wildest dream, Beaches with white clean sand that warms your soul when you walk across it. Our native animals are unique and well worth a visit, and we want you to come and share this wonderful land with us, because we are so proud of it.

went for a month on vacation over there last year and still didn't get anywhere NEAR enough sight seeing done. And dang - its a gorgeous place ya'll have got down there. The variety of things and places to see was grand. I went from one tip of the continent to the other and it was amazing how even a day's travel could take me to an entirely different type of place. I loved driving on the other side of the road and the colorful way things are phrased down there was just way too enjoyable. And there's no complaints about being allowed to snuggle kolas and kangaroos. The cities were an adventure and the inbetween places were just about forever. I got a kick out of the random tires hanging on trees in the desert and the amount of pure odd stuff ya'll put on your burgers was always good for a surprise. I managed Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Alice Springs, Darwin, and Port Douglas - took trains and buses and taxis and planes and cars. But the absolute best thing - the friendly people. I never had to look far to find someone willing to help if I got lost or give me recommendations on things to do or see or to simply chat me up while I was shopping for souvenirs. I know over there I'M the one with the cute accent but still - no end of helpful, friendly people willing to befriend you. That was the best bit of it all.

Gold Coast, yes of course.
But I love "getting lost" in green and leafy Melbourne the most. Can never get tired of hopping on and off their trams.
I like their OZ-English accent, too. And I even got my first couple tats done in King's Cross Sydney.
Bought opal jewelries as souvenirs, was thinking about bringing home boomerang and their cowboy hat, also, but thought I might be pushing it.

I like seing animals native to their part of the world - if only I could get that sleepyheaded nocturnal koala to wake up in our pics !

:)
