Well I live there so this is what I think.
LOVE:
Laidback lifestyle, free medical insurance (we have free Medicare for all Australians or we can choose to join a private fund), a reasonable cross section of TV programs from other countries (mainly US & UK), our Immigration laws are quite tough, I am sure there is more but I just can think of other reasons at the moment.
HATE:
It's so far from the rest of the world (my brothers and sisters live in the US and my son in the UK), the cost of petrol (gas), climbing interest rates, the new Industrial Relations laws, the outsourcing of call centres to India and there is no IHOP. |

I love our high standard of living and relatively well organized society...I hate the immigrants who complain about how terrible australia is and how they dont want to integrate into our society...hopefully soon the government will force them to integrate |

Food tastes like crap compared to the US and UK
High taxes
High Interest rates
Unaffordable living costs
No convenience (everything shuts early) and there is not much variety
No real culture |
