What do you recomend i do in Brisbane & Gold coast?

Me, my mum and her feonsay are going to brisbane March 7th! yay! though that date might change, anyway, from what you have been too, what do you recomend we do here? or maybe even what you don't recomend?
Only here for around a week. So far we will go to a theme park at GC probbaly movie world though, maybe dreamworld? And for shopping we'll go to the queens street mall in Brissy.
Also considering going to the zoo, would that be worth while?
So what do you recomend? any other shopping spots? and what attractions etc that you've been to that is defently worth going to? i'm open to anything... except museums.
I want to make the most of 1 week.
Thanks, any answers are much appriciated!

Forget Brissy, SC and GC, They are crap so why go there as you might as well stay home and go to your local shopping centres.
Go inland, over the ranges and see the real Australia. Meet real Australians not drugged out aggressive yobbos who prey on and murder visitors.

Dreamworld is the best theme park if your looking to go on rides, the other ones such as sea world and movie world are more show/animal/movie orientated.

If your heading into Queen St mall, not too far away is DFO( direct factory outlet). Its located at the airport and has some awesome bargains.I think its better than Harbour Town(gold coast) because its a lot bigger. While your in Queen St, go the casino, its awesome fun.

Australia Zoo is pretty good the first time you go. I like its set up, because you can actually SEE the animals, unlike other zoos I have been too, You also have interaction with the animals..Dont forget there is also the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary and Corrumbin Wildlife Park (although it is mainly birds)

South Bank is a good place to have lunch and have a swim in the pools (its free of cost)

definatlygo to dreamworld you will love it! depending on what day you go if its on a sat or sun you would probs want the full day there. In brisbane go to southbank and brings your togs cause theres a place to swim if you go on sunday theres some markets there which your probs not interested in! pacific fare shopping centre at the gold coast the hotels at gc are really nice and have a swim in the beach!

A wander along South bank. For shopping come to the GoldCoast get the train to Helensvale and the bus will take you to harbour town . Also Pacific fair is a great shopping place. why not stay a night or 2 at broadbeach. You can shop at pacific fair and spend time at Kurrawa beach When you get here there will be a huge amount of tourist information you can pick up .

MovieWorld is pretty good and their new car show thing is AMAZING!! but if your more into rides, then i'd say go to DreamWorld.
Australia Zoo up the Sunshine Coast is really good!
you should also def. head to Surfer's Paradise! http://www.surfersparadise.com/
here are a couple of things you can do;
Infinity [trippy but very fun]- www.infinitygc.com.au
Jet Boating [absolutly amazing!!] www.jetboatextreme.com.au OR www.ozjetboating.com
Rides [Slingshot and Vomatron] www.funtime.com.au
it's easy to just spend a week on the Gold Coast/Surfer's Paradise... i live an hour or so away and i love it there!!
i hope you get the chance to go!! and have LOADS of fun if you do!!

If you aren't from around here and only here for a week. You really should look into AUSTRALIA ZOO. There are a few others around brisbane but australia zoo is 10x better. Its a bit over an hours drive from brisbane, but you can spend all day there watching different shows and the animals and enclosures are unreal. Yeah Queen st mall isn't too bad and the casino.
