cuda girl
Australians are cool...?

Manni
I think they're nice (if a bit strange), generally very forthcoming and quite hospitable. Oh, and they have what is probably the greatest accent on the planet.

I think the Australians R the cool version of the British. Except 4 the drinking, they drink 2 much 4 my taste but other than that ,they seem pretty cool as a culture.

As an aussie, I think most of us rock! but we don't really hav an accent like on t.v lol, probli cos we watch so much american tv, i luv gossip girl and greek, but getting off topic :D, anyway I'm nice and kind, and honestly I might of been rude to a few ppl, but they deserved it haha.

Of course we're different, that's what makes us "Aussies".
You get rude and kind people everywhere, every city, every country. I would have to say we have some pretty bad drivers who in turn for their crap driving, they are ridiculously rude.

When I travelled through the USA, I was under the impression American's loved Aussie's. But soon discovered that we're just like any other tourist, except with a "retarded accent".

But I'm proud to be an Australian, especially having a Kangaroo to ride to Uni and work, it's great! errrr.

Dal_girl654
I don't think they're any different than a person from Canada.. it just depends on their personalities. but have you heard them talk?
oh my frig. it's hot. :)

BlairWB
someone wrote kangaroo riding... whaaaat?! haha They aren't big enough to ride silly! and I'm sure if I tried I'd get kicked, they're a bit fierce lol

itaLiann*

TAPASVI

since most that have answered are either australian ( who of course have only good things to say about themselves ) or from other countries who have never been to australia, I feel the need to provide some realities. Aussies have the following:
1. Tall Poppy Syndrome: dislike of anyone who is successful and the need to put that person down.
2. a laid back lifestyle that often borders on really just laziness.
3. Are unable to look at their country or countrymen objectively...see number 1.
4. an identity crisis...some think Aussies are just Brits with a tan, others are struggling with the icons that have been presented to the world, ie: Steve Irwin, kangaroos, vegemite etc. They seem to be trying to come up with something new and to differentiate from their British heritage and aren't having success in doing so.
5. They have a lack of modesty, for instance, there is a commercial on the TV here that has a beaver in a tampon advertisement...and in QLD, there are more adult shops than grocery stores.
So, there are a few of my observations ( please no personal attacks from Aussies, if you do will just show your lack of ability to tolerate others opinions )...and of course as in all countries, some are nice, some are kind, and some aren't.

jonny fix-it
they're nice, but not as nice as kiwis

they've got a beautiful landscape, but not as pretty as new zealand

and they've got cool accents, but not as cool as kiwis

compared to brits, however, they're freaking awesome!

xtremecatholic
I think they are nice but there are way too many gun laws in that country. Those people need to loosen up and make it easier for someone to get a gun.
