The National Museum is a great tourist attraction with great views. The short term exhibitions are great and currently they have the NRL 100 years of Rugby League exhibition.

I have taken many friends to it and they enjoyed it immensely.

One of many fabulous attractions we have here in the ACT.

Also, I will mention the many mountain bike parks in the ACT. We are the home of mountain bike riding. There's about 15 people at work that all ride. Sparrow Hill, Majura Pines & Stromlo.

The restaurant that you are referring to Miss Kitty Kat is the bistro at the Tradesman's club in Dickson. Not recommended if you wish not to get ill.

As far as its best kept secrets that would have to be what those with large pay packets and disposable income get up to when the sun goes down. Or even when it is up in some cases. Plenty of party essentials to be found in even the highest of quality establishments especially those that include the serving of food and alcohol.

You might be able to help me with the name of it.....years ago I visited Canberra and ate in a restaurant with train carriages and general transport memorabilia.....bikes hanging on walls, photos, stories, etc. This was a wonderful experience! Do you know the name?
Also I loved :
***Telstra Tower
***War Memorial and Museum [can't remember if they were connected or not but close to each other if memory serves?]
***The Mint
***Old Parliament House

I loved visiting Canberra and am trying to talk my husband into a visit.....he's never been and is missing out!

I went to Canberra in 1994 and found by accident that the best accommodation was available at some bowling club on the northern outskirts on the main highway into town. Enjoyed it immensely. So easy to get around from there.

I think Canberra is underrated as a whole.
