Qantas started with airlines operating air mail services subsidised by the Australian government, linking railheads in western Queensland in Nov, 1920.

Its also the 13th largest airline in the world by passenger numbers.

Well I guess everyone has told you already. QANTAS is the name of Australia's national airline which uses the the first letters of the name of the company, Queensland (and) Northern Territory Air Services. The logo on the tail of its planes is a red kangaroo hence the slogon "the flying kangaroo".
