Where I live, near Sydney, winters are cool.
The north of Australia has warm winters as it is in a tropical zone and their summers are very hot.
Southerly Australia is freezing in winter
So, as we are a vast continent, you can see the variations in temperature |

depends on where abouts you are. some states are really cool and mild, others have LOTS of snow, some again are still pretty warmish. Nth Queensland and the Northern Territory are always hot, but down in NSW and Victoria it gets pretty cold!!!!!!! (it was once -22 degrees -celcius- at a place in NSW called Charlotte's Pass) |

It depends where you are as Australia is massive.....it's nowhere near as cold as NZ....but it can be cool...although in the north it nver gets cool...we get some snow but even then it isn't v. good and most Aussies like to go to NZ for that...in Sydney it is mild, Aussies like to think it is really cold but compared to places in Europe and New york for example it is nothing.....but the thing is Australia isn't prepared for the cold when it hits (like the houses don't have good heating) so you can get v. cold as most Europeans live in houses that have good heating. Also our winters don't last v. long either......in tassies and sth victoria it can get quite cold but elsewhere the winters are cold but mild (i still wear thongs/flip flops). But really i would describe it as mild cool winters with the occasional really cold day. |

Like any country in Winter - ITS COLD :)
Also - what part of Australia? I am from Sydney and we don't get snow... although you can go for a 3 hour drive do see the snow - so it all depends on where. |

There is no simple answer to this. In the tropics its still tropical, in the Brisbane its still very mild, the further south you go the colder it gets. In Tasmania its cold. They have snow on some of the mountains in NSW and Victoria and the odd Skifield or two. Canberra is said to be really freezing in winter.
Cooltoque, WHAT THE!! Christmas in Australia is SUMMER! |

Hot and sunny. Christmas time everyone goes to the beach, brings a christmas tree and decorates it with beer cans. |
