Byron is beautiful with great expanses of beach apart from the wonderful town beach. The scenery is magnificent. The Beach Hotel is fine for a drink and entertainment but the standard of food there has gone down the gurgler. I will never eat there again. Byron is becoming Nimbin's seaside suburb, there are lots of ferals in town and parts of it are becoming very tacky but there are still good places to go and things to do. Unlike the Gold Coast there are no high rise buildings so the beaches are not in the shade all afternoon. It is a young people's town with plenty of nightlife.

Very laid back, arty-crafty shops, hippie feel, sandy beach. I loved it. Would go back in a heartbeat, and stay longer. I went in the winter when it was very pleasantly warm. Summer is too hot.
I went further north to Surfers too - didn't like there at all. Very over-rated.

It's a holiday resort with a beautiful sandy beach. It is also a place full of hippies. Very nice to visit.

It used to be good but now it is a sold out place full of yuppies. If you are into punk you would hate it. especially in summer .Go to Nimbin.

Byron Bay is absolutely a great holiday place .Beaches lighthouse whales sun tourists everywhere in the good months.Highly recommended for a holiday destination.
