Who cares if he's insulted the Japanese over whaling - they badly needed it.
He doesn't want to stop private schools - where do people get that bullsh!t from? Every government including Rudd's knows that they can't do without private schools and that they must continue to subsidise them. In their next term though, they may stop additional (non basic per student) grants to incredibly rich schools like Kings and others like it - surely every fair minded Australian would support that! It's an absolute scandal that schools like those have been getting ANYTHING from the public purse, let alone the vast sums they've been given for their rifle ranges and magnificent playing fields and buildings.
If you read the election promises about laptops for students - Labor hasn't changed a word from their election promises. If you misread the promise, that's your problem. My daughter is a teacher at a low to mid-level Brisbane High School and they received their laptops a few weeks ago. Her school was there when the Coalition was in power - no laptops then!
They're working on the fast broadband and have only been in power for a little over 6 months. The Coalition did NOTHING in years about it and that's why communications are in such a parlous state now - it's a highly technical thing that needs infrastructure to make it possible and they can't just wave a magic wand and make it happen in five minutes.
I agree that the stupid Summit was a waste of time, but they're not the first government to confuse activity with action and they won't be the last.
I also believe that FuelWatch will do nothing to lower prices and will probably make petrol a bit more expensive - at least they're trying to do something.
The European union in Asia - not sure about that. Need to read up a bit more on it and sort newspaper and TV talk from the facts.
Give them a go. At least they're sincerely trying to make a difference unlike their predecessors who sat back and let the mining boom do everything for them and did nothing about health, education, infrastructure etc. They've left a legacy of very real problems in those areas and others that will take time to fix. |

Krudd says one thing and does the other, peter garrett wants build a nuclear waste centre in Australia, Toyota cars sell more cars in the world than anyone else yet Krudd wants to give them money, solar energy industry in Australia was just killed off by Krudd & co. the 2020 convention was to be seen to be doing something when you are not doing anything it was also a chance for rudd to get his head on T.V again and he just loves doing that. your computers for school that were promised to every child has been changed to every child will have access to a computer in other words you get nothing because3 the library in your school has a computer and there you have access to a computer. if you feel ripped off because you should be. |

at the end of the day, no matter who our prime minister is they cant fix everything and we are always going to complain about what they are not doing!!!! what ever... we cant do anything about it and if you can, go and do something and stop complaining! you try and keep 20 million people happy! not that i agree with a lot of Ruddy's stuff, give the guy a break though....he had a bad battered sav the other day and his judgement is all off!!! |

All very easy to complain, but I seriously doubt that you are doing a whole lot to benefit Australian's and change our of life. Not that it's your job most likely, but glass houses, stones and the rest....
He's got a job that I wouldn't like to have, and despite what you may think, it's not keeping you happy, it's doing what is best for the nation.
People will find problems with anyone who is in power, and I really don't believe he's doing any worse than his predecessor. Actually, I welcome the change |

Yes. John Howard has been running for years now, and nothing TERRIBLE has happened. Also, Rudd wants to ban public religion (no churches or public speaking of religion). He also wants to stop private schools!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
