My best QLD Island Holidays
1.Green Island Resort- Green Island is on the great barrier reef so there's plenty to do (snorkeling, scuba diving, glass bottomed boat rides etc.). The Island is beautiful and so is the wildlife. It is fairly expensive but I thought it was worth it.
2. Lady Elliot Island- It is also on the reef and the wildlife is amazing. Again, snorkeling, diving etc. are all fabulous. It was cheaper than Green Island but the accommodation wasn't nearly as good.
3.North Stradbroke Island- Beautiful but isn't on the reef. Highlights include the picturesque gorge walk, swimming in "the key holes" (a system of lakes), the beaches, and whale watching. Quite affordable.
4.Tangalooma Island Resort- Very pretty, and a nice beach holiday but not as fabulous as Lady Elliot or Green Island as it isn't on the reef. You can feed wild dolphins but which is pretty cool. I only visited for 3 days so I only got to hand out on the beach and feed the dolphins but I'm sure there are many other activities available. Quite affordable.
So I would recommend Green Island or Lady Elliot for a great barrier reef experience and stradbroke or Tangalooma for a general beach holiday. Hope this helps! |

There are any number of islands that make good honeymoon destinations depending on the sort of holiday that you like. Hayman island has a very luxious resort. Fraser Island is good if you want something a bit different. It has the worlds largest rainforest on a sand island. There is Hamilton Island if you liked to be kept busy.

it depends what u want to do. Daydream Island is nice if u just wanna laze by the pool.
I stayed in Airlie Beach at the coral sea resort, it was awesome and its very easy to go to the islands for the day. |
