Since I'm an Aussie, growing up was looking forward to Roast Lamb on a Sunday.

Followed by Pavlova if we were lucky.

My favorite meal of all time is what we had every Sunday night: Roast beef, potatoes and carrots with those tiny pearl onions, corn bread on the side with real butter (not margarine) and angel food cake |

chicken with rice, noodles or sometimes mashed potatoes. I lived in Asia for a long time, hence the rice based diet. |

In Australia, during the week just normal meat & Veggies, on a weekend the old lady would cook a roast (the best on earth), on a special occassion we would maybe have fish n chips from the milk bar up the road. isnt it funny how sons allways love their mums cooking over their wives, dont tell my missus that though!!!! |

Most eaten meal growing up? Goulash. Beef, carrots, celery, onion, and gravy over mashed potatoes. Or it could be put over bread if potatoes are not available, though its not as good with bread.
Favorite meal growing up? Tacos.
Favorite meal now? Tuna Melts.
Usual birthday meal? Wimpies, home made chocolate cake, vanilla ice cream.
Holiday? Thanksgiving - Turkey with all the extras. Christmas/New Year's Day - Ham
New Year's Eve - Chinese food or fish. |

Roasted turkey and cornbread dressing with all the trimmings. Candied sweet potatoes, and giblet gravy over mashed potaoes. That's right, we have to have two potato dishes, and a pecan pie to finish the meal. I left out many of the side dishes, but I could live on the ones I mentioned. I thank God for a mother who grew up in Alabama. Good place to leave, but a great place to learn to cook! |
