I live in Australia, and have all my life.. I live in Melbourne which is down the very bottom of the country. In winter it can get cold but generally not as cold as America. it doesnt snow in any major cities, only in a few places. average temperature in winter would be about 6-7 degrees celsius during the day. It gets very hot in summer, average about 26 degrees celsius during the day, we have been in a major drought recently, and its a very dry country. Although we have alot of beaches to cool off in, as obviously we are completely surrounded by water.

In my opinion its the best country in the world!! A massive country by size, but not in population, so its not crowded... with heaps of diversity.

Hope this helps!

Fine and sunny here on the Sunshine Coast, but we are suppose to have storms tonight. So when are you coming over?.

Here in Queensland it's been warm and sunny all day, 23°C or 73.4°F.

Edit:
Yes, it would be nice if it actually did rain more here.
The drought, in many places, isn't over just yet.
"Raining one day, pissing down the next" is something I'd love to see for a change.

Depends on where you want to go, its a big place. In the Northern Territory it is Hot all year round, yet we also have snow fields in New South wales and Victoria but it only snows there for a few months in winter. The tropical Islands off Queensland coast are a very good place for a holiday because of the reef. The centre of Oz has its attractions too, the great outback but its very hot in the day and cold at night. Tasmania is very beautiful and green but VERY cold in winter as it is close to the antarctic. Shopping is good in Melbourne Victoria. The Gold Coast is good for surfing and the beach but shopping is dear. I live in Rockhampton but don't come here it is the murder capital of Australia and not much else happens.

iyou mean australia or NZ?

Australia- climate does vary.
hot and dry in the middle,
hot and humid in the north,
the south east are more temperate climates but it does get hot like over 30 degree Celsius in summer. But Temps on average are usually warm in summer.
Tasmania is the coldest place. Climate similar to the UK

nz-much cooler. Climates are like the UK but with more sun shine. Again climates vary from the north and south island.

its bloody cold atm

cant wait for summer nd the beach

It is both warm and cold - it depends on whether you are in Tasmania (cold) or in Darwin (hot). The red-centre (Alice Springs and Nullarbor Plains) are nearly always hot.
The temperature generally, is starting to warm up as we have summer Christmases.

Not too different than any other place. I was in Sydney and Brisbane. If you do go there, take the Sydney Harbour ferry ride. The beer on board is very strong. If you do make it there, stop off at New Zealand. Christchurch (in the south island) is very quaint. When it's summer here, it's winter there. So don't do what I did: I sent my thick coat back home from Hawaii, then I froze my butt off when I landed in NZ.

All of Australia is beautiful and has many amazing places to see. The Summers are a lot hotter than other places in the world, especially in Qld. I have lived in QLD for ten years but came originally from Sydney. While they are both great (Sydney is colder). QLD is beautiful. I live close to the beach but near the rainforest and national parks which are beautiful. If you are a nature lover Qld is for you.
Winter is cold, Summer is hot and so is Spring and Autumn.

Hope that helps.

Mel
Just like most countries, we have four seasons. Summer is hot, winter is cold. We don't suffer much extremes in the weather, the coldest is usually at night and the hottest in the middle of the day. So depending in what season you come will depend on the weather.

Queensland is a joke, the slogan goes beautiful one day, perfect the next.. I've never had a holiday to qld where it hasnt been more like, raining one day, pissing down the next.
