What is the best gift to give a best friend who is moving from UK to Australia?

Suggestions:

Digital Camera - so they can take memories with them from the UK before they leave, and document the amazing things they see, and email them to you once they arrive.

Webcam - so you can video conference over the internet and have face to face conversations. The distance doesn't have to mean the end of your friendship.

Something from home: Buy them something that can't be bought in Australia that would remind them of "home". Make sure it passes Australia's very strict import laws (no food, animals, or wood products). Make it something personal.

Maybe something to remember you by, dont buy her something, make her something. Cut out loads of photos and put them all together, along with quotes of funny/stupid things you've said. It'll mean alot more than anything you could buy in a shop xx

skate
A web cam so you can keep in touch.

A montage of photos of you together or something similar.
Whatever you do make it personalised- she will want to remember you in that way rather than looking at an item you bought her.

i got my friend a subscription for her favourite mag to be sent to her once a month for 1 year! she loved it!! but the photo idea is also good, but then it depends on how much weight she is taking already with her , as airports rip them off at check in!

I miss my best-est buddie loads, but we always chat, i send her NEXT clothes and m&s knickers (don't ask!!) as she misses these loads as well.

A good question. I guess a cellphone would be good enough....I think. Or maybe an album or scrapbook containing memories of what u both did.

fm
Get him (or her) a nice portrait photo of some of the most beautiful scenery either in UK or in Australia. Take a look at http://www.paintyourlife.com for more ideas on this subject.
They also do wonderful photo-printing on canvas in different designs. Please take a look at http://www.photo-print-on-canvas.com for more information.
