depends what you're into and how old you are etc

chadstone is good, a lot of chain stores and surf shops, but other good place slike country road, myer, witchery etc, also has a lot of shoe shops

chapel st is more for a younger crowd, and specifically richer teens, but also has really nice places, mimco, mac, zimmerman and stuff

i think your best bet is to go into the city. it has heaps of boutiques, and brand names, whatever fashion your into you are likely to find it there. set aside the whole day though, theres a lot to look through. melbourne central and the GPO are good places to start, but don't neglect the little alley ways that seem hidden, you will always find something unexpected in them

Ummm...
Chadstone Shopping centre, Southland, and Fountaingate.

DFOs (Direct Factory Outlets) located in Cheltenham, Essendon, and Spencer Street.

Then there is Greville st, Acland st, Swanston st, Bridge Road- Richmond, Brunswick st- Fitzroy, Chapel st, Collins st, Flinders lane.

And you’ve also got the block arcade, Melbourne Central, Crown, Queen vic market, St Kilda market, and Bourke Street Mall (which also contains the massive Myer and David Jones stores)

They are the most popular shopping places in Melourne. My favourites are probably Chapel st and Melbourne central :)

Maya loves Myer!
myer! myer is my store, chadstone is really big, love it there. Have fun xx

Definitely Chadestone Shopping Centre, the fashion capital! ( I believe it is the biggest Shopping centre in the Southern Hemisphere!)

Edward Cullen Bites My Pillows.
Chadstone Shopping Centre. It has all the major chain stores and much much more. It is one of the biggest shopping centres in melbourne

If you like clothes shopping then Bridge Road in Richmond

Kyokes
Plenty of places around Melbourne which are good for shopping, but it depends on what styles you are looking to go for.

Chadstone ~ the fashion Capital is always a good place, everything under the one roof
Chapel & Greville Street ~ Everything from your up coming designers through to you high end fashion
Brunswick Street ~ Odds and ends
Camberwell Market ~ Sunday mornings good for a bargin
Melbourne City ~ You've got Melbourne Central or QV

Take you pick...

If you are hanging out to do some shopping whilst in Melbourne, not only can you find some bargains at the Queen Victoria Market, but DFO have heaps of designer brands at bargain prices, so you gotta check that out too. http://www.dfo.com.au

You can also SHOP till you drop at exclusive designer boutiques such as Versace, Louis Vuitton or Prada just to name a few and other general fashion stores at Crown casino http://www.crowncasino.com.au/

You may also find what you are after at Highpoint or Watergardens Shopping centre

Here is an idea: For the ultimate shopping experience, why don't you go on a shopping tour (factory outlets galore!!!)

Happy Shopping!!!

In the arcades in the city (in the Bourke Street, Flinders Lane, Swanston Street and Elizabeth Street blocks). Dozens of beautiful boutiques, clothes shops and interesting retailers of every kind with marvellous little cafes and coffee shops all over the place when you need a break. And, they're all really close to Myer which is by far the biggest and best department store in Australia. Love it!!
