Inland route - Hume Hwy (quicker)
Coastal route - Princes Hwy (longer but more scenes and better breaking places).

dingo60
Depends - if you want good roads and a fast trip - head down the Hume. If you want to wander down slowly, staying at a couple of places on the way and enjoying the scenery, take the coast roads.

no name
hume highway

OzNana
If you go to whereis.com.au you will be able to type in your exact address from start to finish and it will tell you the easiest way to get there. It is Hume highway most of the way. Depends which bit of Sydney you are leaving from. Stop for a meal at Holbrook rather than Albury, the road goes through the middle of the town anyway. Lenny's cafe has good food. I always stop there. It is a straight run the whole way down the freeway, about a 9 hour drive if you do it in one day.

google maps. they give you the closest route.

What dingo60 said! If you're in a hurry - Hume highway. If you're not - Pacific highway down the coast is much more interesting.
