Wish I could go back for 18 days. Heck, would love to go back for 18 years. Anyway, to answer your question, it really depends on where you are going. If you are in the north (Darwin), it will be warm, so shorts and t-shirts are not bad. If you are going south towards Melbourne, it will be cooler. That would be the time for pants and warmer clothes. Have a good trip and a fun holiday.

If going to Tasmania or inland NSW/VIC it snows in winter.

My mom was in Australia couple of years ago. She had buncha shorts, tops and T-shirts, 'cause it's pretty hot over there. But bring some warmer clthes (like long-sleeved shirt and long pants)
just in case. Good luck;)

In July it's winter here and Australia is a very big country with lots of varying weather, so it really depends on where you are going.

I think you should bring a pair of jeans for sure and a big jacket (just in case it gets very cold), some jumpers and shirts.

i live in queensland ..i wear 3/4 pants, shorts and t.shirts through the summer.. in winter the same through the day ..on a cold day or night jeans shirt and jumper/jacket.. further south you go the colder it gets the warmer clothes you need... Melbourne and Tasmania can get very cold warm coats/jackets ..dress in layers of a morning so you can peel off when it warms up and put back on when it cools in the evening..enjoy your stay you will have a great time we are really nice friendly people

July is wintertime there, so bring a bunch of warm clothes.

JULY IS WINTER MONTHS IN AUSTRALIA, DEPENDIN ON WHAT STATE YOU WILL SPEND THE DAYS, IF YOU WILL TRAVEL ON ALL 5 STATES THEN MAKE SURE YOU HAVE LIGHT CLOTHING AND BRING A JACKET FOR NIPPY OR COLD NIGHTS. THE MAIN THING IS YOU ARE COMFORTABLE.
YOU WILL LOVE YOUR TRIP. HAVE FUN
