Biggest city - Sydney
Best City - Cairns
Cairns is way better than the other big cities in Aus. Not too big, not too small, heaps of nightlife and things to do especially if your into outdoor recreation as it has the great barrier reef, the oldest rainforest in the world (the daintree), spectacular islands (dunk island), the outback at its doorstep, its tropical, its multicultural, it has sea side resorts (Palm Cove, Port Douglas, Mission Beach) in the region. Cairns has everything all the big cities have plus having the beautiful natural surroundings and an unlimited amount of things to do. |

Festival? January is festival month in Sydney - plenty of things going on.
Also the Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. It is a world class festival where people from all over the world will come and see the glitters and glamour of the parade.

The biggest and best city is Sydney! we have so much to do here and so much culture.
And who ever said that the capital city was the biggest city in Australia is wrong, because the capital city here is Canberra and it is probably the smallest too! |

The biggest city is Sydney. This ciy would also get the most visitors. I would say most Aussies would head up to the Gold Coast- Surfers Paradise for holidays. Its like the Orlando of Australia they got Movie World, Dream World, Wet n Wild, Sea World. Festivals- Ive seen schoolies, boxing day(day after christmas), Big Day out. |
