What is the cost of moving from the USA to Sydney, Australia?

I was born in Sydney, but my family moved to the US when I was 7. I've recently graduated with a degree in marine biology and would like to return to Australia. How much will this cost?

Being born in Australia, you would be a citizen and hold an Australian passport, or at least be a citizen. You wont require a visa.

Airfares to Australia can vary between $1,000 and $2,000 depending on airline and which city you wish to arrive.

The cost of living in Wollongong, 1-1.5hrs south of Sydney has been recently compared to that of New York. So things are not cheap. That being said, our wages are substantially higher then those in the US.

This site will help you out with your migration. http://www.immi.gov.au

I have come across a few questions from others (non Australians) looking to migrate to Aus, that might be of some help in knowing what to expect and our general lifestyle.

Depends about your living conditions you want.

Fly down and buy stuff there. Shop on the net for air fairs. You may be able to get some good deals if you are willing to go on short notice and have a lay over.

Cougar
About $1400 for the air fare.

trajikromantik
alot. i mean a plane ticket alone is a grand...so just think about that.
