Australia and New Zealand have seperate currencies, although some of their coins are often used with ours as they are similar in shape. Technically a NZ coin or note is not valid in Australian currency.
There is the Australia Dollar (AUD), and the NZ Dollar (NZD).
There was a plan (by Australia) to improve relations between Australia and NZ by creating an Australian New Zealand common currency (or more that NZ can share our currency), but it seems that wont happen for some time yet as both countries aren't very keen on it (NZ in particular).
