I really enjoyed Townsville. Nice people, the shopping was good, the heat was fantastic. Fuel cost heaps though. Great food at Monsoons Bar & Grill, had a great time at the Cowboys leagues club. Day tripped to Magnetic Island. Went for a dive trip with Adrenalin dive to the SS Yongalalin. Plenty to see and do. Wish I had more than one week there. |

City? Regional would be Townsville, Toowoomba, Mackay, Cairns - in that order.
Brisvegas has all the city trappings yet still maintains an air of freshness.
Port Douglas, Melany, Bowen, 1770, Kuranda, Tannum Sands, Cedar Bay - too many beautiful spots to mention. |

It really depends on what you're looking for: I'd say Brisbane and Toowoomba would be the nicest cities. There's lots of great towns along the coast, a lot of icky ones as well. Cairns, Cooktown, Townsville and the Sunshine Coast are good mainly for the beautiful areas they have proximity to. |

I live in Brisbane and love living here, but it really depends on the type of lifestyle you prefer. Brisbane's weather is great and the nightlife, dining out, other entertainment and shopping are good, but we have no beaches to speak of. All of the decent beaches are at least an hour away on the Gold and Sunshine Coasts so if you're after surf and sand, Brisbane is probably not the best place for you. |
