Bulimba. Reasonably close to the city and it gives you a few public transport options. Bus or city cat ferry which is a great way to go to work as you cruise up the river. Its also a good place to live because it has some good restaurants and cafes. |

Milton Indooroopilly Toowong etc are close to the City & Indooroopilly has a big shopping centre & there are movies at Indooroopilly as well & its only a short train trip to Brisbane City
BUT just remember don't roam around after dark by yourself any where you go or even in the daytime don't go to real deserted places by yourself & you will be fine.
Don't go to Ispwich, logan area Inala Durack New Farm or the Valley, they could be ok but the other places will be better I think for a single girl & also there is no sense going to far out of the city because they are to far from the big shops & movies
you still get movies etc at some suburbs but if you work in the city its less travelling
welcome to Briz |

if you can afford it, there are plenty of secure buildings in the CBD. I stay on 212 Margaret St. comfortable rooms and full security to get in and out. I stay short term but I know they also have long term arrangements. also there are a lot of similar buildings around it too. |

Just dont go on the bike ways. To many attacks latly.
All areas are OK so around the city is the safest and when at home at night, just use common sense |

I once lived in Sherwood. I'd say any suburb like Sherwood, Corinda, Chelmer, Oxley, Graceville will be OK and they are handy to the Ipswich-Brisbane railway line which is just about the backbone of the suburban rail service. There are plenty of apartment bldgs around Sherwood and there is a fairly decent shopping centre near the rail station. There's a big park called the Arboretum on the riverbank in Sherwood. Churches nearby as well. Get on the western side of the railway line for the best areas in those suburbs. If you have a bit of money, look for a place along Laurel Avenue. Fantastic old Queenslander houses. |

Any where is safe if you use common sense. As for Ausiblue on don't go to Ipswich, she can,t even spell the name so how would she know. |
