It's called a joey.
Now for some amazing facts.
1) A kangaroo is the only animal that the faster it travels the less energy it uses.
2) A female kangaroo is virtually permanantly pregnant.
3) She can have 2 young feeding on her milk at the same time from differnet nipples but the milk produced for each is different.
4) She can suspend the development of the young still in the womb in times of drought.
5) the name Kangaroo is not the real name for the creature. When Captain Cook asked a local Guugu Yimidhirr he replaied Kangaroo, meaning "I don't understand you"

pouch in the front of her and is called a Joey i live in W.A and down the end of my street is a reserve where there are lots of kangaroos its lovely to drive past during the day and see them there in their natural bush

They are called joeys and are so cute! They stay with their mothers a long time. When we visited Australia last year, there were some joeys almost as big as their mothers, still in their pouches. Amazing!
