What is there to do in Kalgoorlie for visitors?

It's a very boring drive from Perth to Kalgoorlie & not much to visit on the way. A lot of wheat belt country to Southern Cross - then mallee & red dirt from there on.

Perhaps a stop in S/C & also Coolgardie.

The latter is an old gold mining town with a lots of nice old buildings & museums, if you're into that sort of thing.

Kalgoorle/Boulder itself has a bit to offer. Nice old pubs (with plenty of skimpy barmaids to cater for the mainly male patrons), museums, the 'ladies of the night' in the red light street of Hay Street. There is a nightclub. You can go on tours of the mines - open cut & shaft. Nice old buildings. You can go to the two-up game out in the bush (it's now legal to do so!).

Anyway, I have fun there because I like the laid back lifestyle of the Goldfields.

In terms of on the way, the only places of any size are Cunderdin, Merredin, Southern Cross and Coolgardie. Most of them have some sort of museum. You will pass through Meckering, the site of one of the larger earthquakes in recent times. A few things to see like damaged houses, a visible fault line (just). However, it is a long and fairly boring drive overall.

We stopped in Kalgoorlie on the train going from Sydney to Perth. We only had a short time there. I remember seeing a street of brothels there, which were fun to see.

There's a great little second hand/antiques shop in Kelleberin called Old Wares. Its on the main street. I call in every trip and there's always a few new bargains!

DRIVING!!!??? Crazy. Thats REALLY boring. I went on th train and that was bad enough and at least we could stand up or buty food or whatever. Umm maybe you could stop at some of th towns for a break.

In Kalgoorlie check out th super pit. You can even see th explosion.

One of the main attractions is the super pit . you take a drive up a hill in Kalgoorlie. The Super pit is amazing. Hay Street is very well known It is the street of brothels. Worth a drive past.Not a lot on your drive the nearest lovely place to Kalgoorlie is the costal town of Esperance. But that you would need to take a day off to drive to once you are in Kalgoorlie. and spend a couple of days there.

there is some great nostalgia to see the history of kalgolie is great the miners ,the working girls have been there for years a matter of fact if it wasnt for the women of the town galgolie wouldnt exist as men need women out there as it,s not all work and no play !!!!!!
