I was in perth last year and to be honest didn't really enjoy it much, however the surrounding area is amazing, try get down to margaret river, or up to lancelin and the coast around there, which is breathtaking.

around perth we went to rottnest island and penguin island which was a good day out at a penguin reserve, we got there by alittle boat which was included in the price and took us sealion spotting first.

No idea.... I am from NSW and never been to Perth, apparently theres alot of beaches to see?

Also, I heard that the gravitational pull is different on the west side of Australia.... and that the water goes down drains in a different direction to the east side.

Speaking of different directions, it would be different seeing the sun rise and set in a different direction too!
