Adelaide Hills are very nice. Watch out for great white sharks!

I know someone that live's there and he is not overly impressed with it. Says the weather is weird compared to Australian weather and the pizza is cut into squares (rather strange)

Hi Catty,

Gone are the days that Adelaide is looked upon as being a small country town and boring. That stigma is still displayed by some who in my opinion are ignorant of what Adelaide has to offer.

I agree that it is not the thriving metropolis of a city like Sydney but neither is it a city that has not moved with the times. It has had and still does have marvellous attractions, tours and activities for the tourist.

South Australia is my choice, I have been through out the world and one of my better places is Perth and Cape Town but Italy's culture is also beautiful.

Adelaide is a lovely city and quite compact. It's on the banks of a river and on the south side is the cricket oval. It has quite an English feel to it, so much so that most of us Aussies from other parts think they speak with an English accent.

It's known as the city of churches as it has quite a high proportion of them, considering the size of the city itself.

otakugirl
Adelaide is like a country town - nice people but pretty boring. It's flat and small.
The Adelaide Hills and down the coast outside Adelaide are worth a visit though.

If you've lived in the big cities such as sydney, and you're looking for fun, Adelaide is NOT the place to be. If you're a bit older and want a slow paced lifestyle, adelaide is PERFECT. Everything in Adelaide is slower, people walk slower, talk slower, and drive slower. Was there a few months, and when I hopped back to sydney, people were honking at me telling me to drive faster! That's me from a young point of view... there isn't much to do there. Sorry adelaidians.
